Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, rapper and film and television mogul, expands his empire, G-Unit Studios, to the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana. This move marks a significant step as Jackson continues to extend his influence beyond music.
In a statement to Billboard, Jackson expressed this expansion as not just a business move but also as a commitment to nurturing talent and building creativity within the community.
“As someone who has always believed in the transformative power of music, film, and television, I’m beyond excited to introduce the expansion of my G-Unit Film & Television through the launch of G-Unit Studios right here in Shreveport,” Jackson told Billboard.
“It’s not just a business decision; it’s a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities, and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation. We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity.”
Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux shared his excitement about G-Unit Studios finding a home in his city. He believes that the studio’s presence will not only contribute to the local economy but also bring captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and its residents.

The launch of G-Unit Studios was met with Jackson being honored with his celebratory day and receiving a key to the city from Mayor Arceneaux. The studio’s in-house production facility, located in downtown Shreveport, is already buzzing with activity. Reports suggest that Jackson is eyeing additional properties in the area to expand the studio’s footprint further.
G-Unit Film & Television, founded in 2003, has a solid track record of producing compelling content that resonates with audiences worldwide. From documentaries to hit series like “Power” on Starz, the studio has consistently pushed boundaries and raised the bar in the entertainment industry.
While G-Unit’s partnership with Starz has ended, Jackson remains undeterred. The studio has recently inked a non-exclusive broadcast deal with Fox, signaling a new chapter of growth and opportunity.
